Terms and Conditions

Introduction

Padgate Scouts and Guides is not a commercial organisation and are running a limited sale of plants as a fund-raising exercise. While we will try to help where we can, we are unable to offer same level of pre/post sales support as a commercial business. Please be aware we have no paid staff, our team are volunteers processing your orders in their spare time. Please ensure you are happy you understand what you are buying and the limits of what we can offer, before you purchase.

Terms of Sale

All purchases “checked out” on this website are to be considered offers to purchase the goods listed at the price listed. Padgate Scouts and Guides reserves the right to reject orders, or remove line items from orders. We will advise you, using the email you provided when checking out, if we need to do so, and refund any such line-items if you have already paid for them. Once checked out your order will be on-hold until we have confirmed your bank transfer has been received.

We generally only sell to individual members of the public in our immediate area, this is as we do not have the resources to process many large orders, we do not deliver orders. If you are another entity/organisation (e.g. a club, business or community group), please contact us before placing your order to avoid disappointment. We will try to support a limited number of local organisations and/or businesses with links to the group or the immediate area if we can.

Any orders for which we do not receive payment by 00:00 1st April 2026 may not be processed. We may, at our sole discretion, attempt to contact you to allow late payment using the contact details provided, otherwise unpaid orders will be cancelled.

Orders can be placed via this website or using our traditional paper forms. If you wish to pay by cheque you must order using the paper forms.

If you want your entry to count in the competition between young people in our sections/units ensure you enter the relevant details during checkout.

We reserve the right to close the store early if we get to the limit of orders we can process.

Generally we do not offer ad-hoc sales of plants on delivery day, all plants must be ordered in advance. If for any reason we are left with spare plants on the day, we may offer them at special rate to clear them rather than return them to the grower, however this is generally a very small number of items, often zero items. Please do not turn up on the day in the hope of selecting your plants then – please order using the form or this shop before the cutover date to secure your plants. The online ordering system will be closed on, or before the 1st April 2026.

Refunds and corrections

Generally, we are unable to offer refunds once the order has been placed once costs to ourselves have been incurred. Your statutory rights are not affected. As a perishable good plants are excluded from returns under the distance selling regulations, once these have been shipped to us.

If you made a mistake on your order, or need to cancel, please contact us using the contact details page, as soon as possible, and we’ll see what we can do to help.

If on the day of collection you find that your order has an error, please let one of our volunteers know – we’ll correct it on the day if we can, or if we can’t, we may offer you an alternative plant (which you may accept or refuse), or we will try to get missing plants to you as soon as possible. If we can’t get a missing plant to you, we will refund the cost of the missing item(s).

If we need to refund you for any reason, please be aware we can only do so via a cheque or bank transfer, you will need to provide the relevant details for us to do so as we have no way to reverse a payment made. Please note any refunds may take several days to process as the will need multiple signatures/approvals to be submitted for our bank to process them, which may take us a few time to arrange.

Delivery

We do not provide a delivery service. You must be able to collect your order from our HQ on delivery day. This is currently planned for 16th May, but may be adjusted based on weather conditions. We will email the address provided with your order if the date changes.

Issues and Complaints

Please raise any issues or complaints using the contact us form above.
